Doug Forsyth

Douglas Richard Forsyth, Sr. was called back to the loving arms of our Savior and family members who preceded him on December 21, 2005. There was a joyous reunion with his father and grandmother who passed away when Doug was only eight, and his mother who passed away a year ago. His courageous and valiant struggle with leukemia is over.

Doug was born to Harry and Bernice Peck Forsyth on November 4, 1943, his fathers birthday, on the steps of Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. He married his eternal companion, Andrea Louise Larson on November 3, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Doug was a proud graduate of Orem High (class of 1962). He graduated from BYU in 1968 with a bachelors in social work. He served an honorable LDS mission to the North British mission. His love for his Savior was evident to all those he served. He held various callings in the LDS Church, high councilman, bishop and "worlds most faithful" home teacher. Doug had a firm testimony of the strength of home teaching and scouting and was awarded the Silver Beaver. He was currently serving as an ordinance worker in the Mount Timpanogos Temple.

He retired from McNeil Pharmaceutical after 33 dedicated years of employment. For the past 3 1/2 years he proudly represented the City of Orem as a councilman. His accomplishments are numerous, but his sense of humor and love for his Savior and family will be missed the most.

Doug is survived by his wife, Andrea, his children, Doug Jr (Jodi), Thornton, CO; Darren (Jamie), Saratoga Springs; Daniel (Emily), Las Vegas, NV; Alisha (Corbet) Heath, Highland and Dustin, 17 grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner, McKay, Camryn, Alex, Cassidy, Connor, Mary, Zachary, Nicholas, Whitney, Miranda, Chelsea, McKayla, Tyler, Jarod, Addison. His siblings, Gwen (Ray) Squires, Highland; Don (Shauna), Orem; Duane (Vickie), Highland; David (Kathleen), Orem; Geri (Curtis) Smith, Pleasant Grove. Doug was preceded in death by his father and mother, two special nephews, John David Forsyth and Derek Patton Larson and brother-in-law, Richard C. Larson.
