Perry Gale Messick

Perry Gale Messick, age 57, of Orem passed away June 8, 2001. He was born in Price, Utah on February 16, 1944 to Eldon Messick and Inez Irene Atwood and raised in the Provo river bottoms. He was the fifth of seven children.

He was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Perry graduated from Orem High School where he lettered in wrestling. He later worked as a truck driver. Perry liked to fix up clocks, camping, looking for Indian artifacts, drawing, and painting. He also loved riding his dirt bike and playing with his grandchildren. Perry was a wonderful father and grandfather.

He is survived by his children: John P. Messick of Orem, Jodee S. Messick of Levan, UT, Jamelin Messick of Orem, Jason R. Messick of Orem, Roberta L. Adams of Orem, David E. Messick of Eagle Mountain, UT, and Carrie E. Vincent of Lehi; 16 grandchildren; 5 brothers: Larry E. Messick of Provo, Don A. Messick of Provo, Clark Messick of Moab, Loren A. Messick of Springville, and Brian H. Messick of Provo; and one sister, Jean Echols of Orem.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Sharon 4th Ward Chapel, 445 South 700 East, Orem. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Berg Mortuary of Orem, 500 N. State Street or on Tuesday at the Chapel one hour prior to services. Interment: East Lawn Memorial Hills.
