Our dear brother, uncle, and friend Robert F. Young, returned to the arms of his loving anf forgiving Savior and earthly parents on July 20, 2001. He left this life suddenly and unexpectedly through the senseless act of another.

He was born June 2, 1944 in Provo, Utah, the second of five children born to Murray and Bernece Young. He attended school in Orem, graduating from Orem High in 1962. He worked most of his life as a cook, chef, and baker. He spent many years working in Park City and most recently was employed in Salt Lake City. He will always be remembered by those who knew him, for his chowders, soups, breads, ribs, sweet rolls and other pastries.

Bob was a kind and caring person who was always concerned about those who were in need. He was always there when someone needed a helping hand. He was happiest when he was out doors, camping, fishing, driving in the mountains he so loved and working in his garden. He loved roses and spent many hours caring for those he grew. He enjoyed photography and was especially fond of the autumn colors that set the mountains ablaze. His cats were his pride and joy and he cared for them deeply. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Brenda Young or Orem, Stephen (Caroline) Young of Sandy, Kristine (Clark) Redford of West Valley, and James (Lorraine) Young of Provo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob, we know your life was hard but we are proud of you, the efforts you made and the successes you found. You never gave up or lost hope, and you have grown from the struggles you endured. We love you and will miss you, but we know that the happiness you have so often yearned to find is now yours.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2001 at the Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 485 South State Street, Orem. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetary.
