Danny, we're going to miss you!  We just spoke last week about your band playing at our reunion in September.  Now, you'll lead us from the Heaven's as we carry on and remember you and nearly 60 of our classmates who have passed on.  We'll do our part to lift your sweet Norma's heart!

Dan, you were always an example to me in band and you were always 1st chair in the trumpet section. You were always positive and striving to become better. I am sure that your  example has touched many lives in a very positive way, as well as mine.

Danny:

So sad to see that you are gone! I started thinking back to all the fun and good times we had in the Trumpet Section in Band. There was David Butcher, Richard Dalebout, Dennis Downs, You, Jerry Tomlinson, and Myself. With your passing you now join David Butcher and Jerry Tomlinson among the 'Gone but Not Forgotten'!

The only members of Our Band Trumpet Section that are left are Richard Dalebout, Dennis Downs, and Me.

The crazy Band trips(remember red balloons on the bus interior light bulbs?), our fantastic trip to the Seattle Worlds Fair, and how really, really talented and 'Good' our Band was!  Mr. Barry was the best Band Teacher ever!

I think back to all of the Orem High School Band members with fondness. Love you all!!!

Doug McKean

p.s. If I forget any of the Trumpet Section I am truly sorry. After all it has been almost 55 years and, as they say, "When you get old the Mind is the second thing to go!"
