Dalleen Thacker (Banks)

Dalleen Thacker Banks, 56, of Elko, Nevada passed away Thursday April 6, 2000 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born March 20, 1944 in Heber, Utah to Dallas J. and Norma Flygare Thacker. She married Johnnie D. Banks August 14, 1962 in the Manti LDS Temple. She was a 1962 Graduate of Orem High School. After their marriage they moved to Salt lake and bought a home in West Jordan, Utah where they raised their family. In 1990 they made their home in Elko, Nevada.Dalleen was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving in various positions in the Relief Society, Young Women's, Primary and as 1st counselor in the Stake Relief Society until her health prevented her from serving anymore. Dalleen had a beautiful singing voice and she loved people around her. Her extended family as well as many friends. Dalleen was a true crafter. Her creativity knew no bounds. She excelled in sewing, quilting, drawing, and cake decorating, however her greatest joy was serving her family. Especially having her grandchildren around her.

She was preceded in death by her father Dallas J. Thacker. She is survived by her mother, Norma F. Thacker; mother-in-law, Rosalie Banks, both of Orem; her husband, Johnnie D. Banks, Elko, NV; her six children: Lonnie (Cari) Banks, Bret Banks, Travis (Tamyra) Banks, all of West Jordan, UT; Wyatt John Banks of Clearfield, UT; Lauralyn (Russell) Shelley of Elko, NV; Chantiel (Thomas) Graves of Carlin, NV; and 13 grandchildren.

Services will be held Tues. April 11, 2000 at 1 p.m. in the LDS chapel at 955 N. 300 E., Orem. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Services under the direction of Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary.
