Marilyn Crandall (Harris)

Marilyn Crandall Harris, 74, passed away on February 9th at her home in Sandy, Utah. She was born December 14, 1943 to Sam and Lyle Crandall and grew up on the family fruit farm in Orem where she learned the value of hard work. She married Jay Harris, her high school sweetheart, on November 1, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, her favorite of which was in the baptistry of the Jordan River Temple. She worked for 15 years at Deseret Book and had a great love for reading. Her favorite things to read were the scriptures and messages written by apostles and prophets. She also loved embroidery and all things Disney. Her greatest joys were serving her family as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was everyone’s biggest fan and never missed a game, event or Sunday dinner. She is survived by her husband, Jay; son, Michael (Becky) Harris; daughter, Michelle (Robert) Butterfield; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16th at 11:00 AM at the Sandy West Stake Center (8680 South 220 East, Sandy). Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, February 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Goff Mortuary (8090 South State Street, Midvale) and at the church prior to the services from 10:00 to 10:45 AM.
