Eileen Bunnell Rencher
1944 ~ 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Eileen Bunnell Rencher announces her death on February 20, 2018 at the age of 73. Eileen died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of family and friends. After years of living with Parkinson's Disease, her untimely death was a result of complications from surgery.
Eileen was born April 23, 1944 in Lehi, Utah to Irwin and Enade Bunnell. Eileen is survived by her children Rachel Rencher, Jeff Rencher, Nettie Atkisson, Carley Rencher Chen and Ashley Burrell; her brother and sister in law, Dale and Shirlene Bunnell; her former husband Ron Rencher; grandchildren Zac, Tyler, Jordan, Annie, Spencer, Audrey, Blake, Addilyn, Preston, Sydney and Bryce; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ted Bunnell and her daughter Jennie Smith.
In 1962, Eileen graduated from Orem High School. She then earned her Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University and her Master's degree from Utah State University.
Eileen enjoyed a lifetime of work in public education. Subsequent to thriving as a teacher in Colorado, Salt Lake City and Ogden she enjoyed, for many years, an outstanding career managing public relations for the Ogden City School District and the Utah State Office of Education. Eileen dedicated her career to promoting education and supporting children and teachers.
Service to the community and to her church were important to Eileen. Over the years she served several positions of responsibility within her church.
At the age of 42, Eileen was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. She never let this stop her, instead she championed organizations supporting the PD community.
Eileen will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. She valued her friendships and always saw the good in others. We will keep her love and spirit alive by supporting the organizations dear to her heart.
A Celebration of Eileen's life will be held Monday, February 26, 2018. Viewing from 9:30-10:30, Memorial Service at 11:00 at the Eagle Ridge Ward, 351 Lofty Lane, North Salt Lake. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution in Eileen's name.
