Elaine Collings Sorensen

February 19, 2019

Elaine Collings Sorensen, born in Provo, Utah, April 28, 1944 to William Clark Collings and Della Miller, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 after a two-year fight with ovarian cancer.

Her first arrival in Fallon was in 1961 as a senior in high school while her father was building the LDS Chapel on Richards Street. Her courtship with Roger Dennis Sorensen began during that time and resulted in their marriage in the Salt Lake City temple on September 2, 1965.

Roger and Elaine bought a farm south of Fallon on which they raised five daughters and three sons. That posterity has grown to include 37 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Elaine spent the 53 years of her marriage in service to her family, her church, and her community. She has long been regarded as an angel on earth.

Elaine is survived by her husband Roger, and children Shareen Johnson, Lora Brimhall, Eric Sorensen, Ryan Sorensen, Analee Schmidtlein, Cory Sorensen, Gina Sidlow, and Kami Orr.

Elaine was so special and always so kind to everyone.  We really did have a lot of really great young people in our class who lived to do great things as adults.   Elaine was one of those people.  She has left a legacy of kindness with her posterity.
