Craig Hodgkinson

December 13, 1943 - December 22, 2016
Resided in Orem, UT

David Craig Hodgkinson, age 73, passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born on Dec. 13, 1943 to Varian C. And Carol W. Hodgkinson, in Vernal Utah. He graduated from Orem High school in 1962. He then served an LDS mission in the Brownsville, Texas mission, speaking Spanish and then was moved to the Worlds Fair in New York City for his last 6 months, since he knew Spanish so well. He was an active member of the LDS church.

He married Nola Gwen West on June 17, 1966 and had a son David Jason Hodgkinson in December of 1970. He loved to fish every summer on Strawberry reservoir and he also loved to hunt. After working as a police officer on the U of U police force, he moved to Heber City and worked there until he retired. He then moved back to Orem to be close to family.

He is survived by his sister Amy (Ken) Ostler, Orem, Utah, and brother Mark Hodgkinson, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his son David Jason Hodgkinson, his parents, Varian C. and Carol W. Hodgkinson, his sister Carol Kay Jenkins and her husband Lyle D Jenkins, and his brother Hugh Mont and his wife Sallie Hodgkinson.

We would like to thank the staff of Beehive Homes of Provo for the support and friendship they showed him during the time he spent there.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday December 29, 2016 at 11 AM at the Santaquin City Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his son.

We will miss him dearly, but we are comforted knowing Craig can now be "Craig" again.
