Jerald LeRoy Johnson, 68, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away January 5, 2013, in his home in Las Vegas.

He was born August 21, 1944 in Tacoma, WA, son of Von and Linda Johnson. His childhood was spent in Edgemont and Orem, UT. He graduated from Orem High School in 1962. He received a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 1984. He married Vineta Spendlove in 1963; together they have 5 children and were divorced in 1994. He married Julie Searcey in 2005.

Jerald concluded a varied career at Household Bank as a Facilities Maintenance Manager. He holds several patents for: a quick release bolt, a multipart piston, a low voltage ignition and a tire spreader. His hobbies included model airplanes, automotive mechanics, and firearms.

He is survived by his wife Julie of Las Vegas, NV; four sons and one daughter: Byron of Morehead City, NC, David of Orem, UT, Bill of Three Rivers, CA, Susie of Las Vegas, NV; and Jerry of Topeka, KS. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.
