Norman Peck VIEW PROFILE

1944-2019

Norman Eugene Peck, 75, passed away at his Orem home on June 9, 2019 from Alzheimer’s disease.

Norman was born on April 5th, 1944 to LaVee Peterson and Harold “Jeff” Eugene Peck. Norman grew up in Orem and received all his education in Orem. He graduated from Orem High School in 1962. He served in the Army Reserves for four years. He went to work at the Orem Post Office in 1965 and retired after 33 years of service.

He married Jacqueline Olsen on June 11, 1965. Together they had six children: Jennifer, Provo Utah; Sean, Provo Utah; Jeremy (Hilda) Calvillo Mexico; Sara (Chris) Anderson; Sandy, Utah; Ryan, Orem ,Utah; and Adriene (Bradley) Davis, Saratoga Springs, Utah. They were later divorced.

He married Angeline Savage Ryan on December 28, 2008 in Provo, Utah.

Traveling and seeing the true wilderness at the end of an offbeat trail or road was his passion. He would often get in his old motor home and go out on the desert for an adventure. He loved to follow the old railroad tracks out in the country and would pick up old railroad memorabilia, old rail spikes, connectors, dropped metal fragments from sparks of steel buildup. He made sculptures from rail spikes, cactus sculpture from old chain saw blades and yard art from found items along country roads. He was an artist at heart and loved to see the possibilities of reclaimed metal.

Norman was a good friend, always listened and loved to visit with everyone. He was a kind and loving person, fun to be around and enjoy time with.

He is survived by his wife, Angie, and his six children and seven grandchildren, his sister, DyAnn (Gary) Houston, Orem; and his brother Larry (Sharon) Peck, Talmage, Ut. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Dawna and her husband Jack Connelly and his stepfather, Dean Cobley.

Thank you to Chase Ryan, Natasha Ryan, Eric Loesener and all the workers at Bristol hospice; Tanner, CNA, Abby and Jay, Nurses, Steve, social worker, Charles, volunteer coordinator, and all the great people who helped us care for Norman.
